Read Ender's Game, Chapters 3 and 4, and respond to these questions:

Chapter 3, 4:

1) What games are mentioned in Chapters 3 and 4? What games are being played in Chapters 3 and 4? What is the goal? What are the stakes? What is the scope?

2) Are games a suitable way of teaching and instruction? Are games the best way to teach and instruct? Should games be serious? Should they be fun? At what point is a game not a game?

  1. Chapter 3;4-2: Games are a very suitable way of teaching, as is the repetition associated with them. I do not believe one has the right to say that they are the best way to teach or not. It varies depending on what is being taught and to whom it is being taught. I have no say in the matter. I personally love serious games, and usually take fun games seriously. But I believe both kinds of games should exist, so all can enjoy the wonder of games. A game is not a game based on personal perception. A man might find a game in watering plants in varying order on different days of the week. Why should one assume they have the most correct answer?
